This international fast food chain is tailored specifically for Mexican cuisine. The brand is owned by Yum! Brands, part of PepsiCo. Taco Bell has thousands of restaurants in the US and Canada, but there are many in Europe and Asia as well.
And Taco Bell appeared thanks to the success of McDonald's. Initially, its assortment differed little from the standard McDonald's set - all the same hamburgers, fries and hot dogs.
But later Bell decided that it was time for his establishment to become unique. Again, the main specialization was Mexican cuisine.
In 1962, the Taco Bell network appeared. And again Bell sold his share in the old business and opened a new one. This time the businessman acted independently. He already understood what was happening and promotion did not take long. And in 1964, Bell began trading a franchise for those wishing to open their own fast food restaurant. The chain grew rapidly, in 1970 it went public with 325 restaurants. It was acquired by PepsiCo in 1978 for $ 125 million. At that time, 868 restaurants were already opened in the United States.
In 1981, Taco Bell restaurants opened in Canada and Australia, in 1986 - in China and the UK. Glenn Bell himself lived an interesting and eventful life; he died in 2010 at the age of 86. His brainchild has become the world's largest Mexican restaurant with 175,000 employees. The company's turnover is about $ 2 billion. Millions of visitors come to Taco Bell every day, almost all establishments operate on a franchise basis.
