Analyzes

What does a person do when they start having health problems? Runs to get tested! After all, how else to find out what the source of the problems is. You should not trust your feelings - it may happen that the pain is felt in a completely different place than the affected organ is located.

Only on the basis of analyzes can the doctor prescribe a course of treatment. But people sometimes refuse to take tests or even do not believe them due to some myths.

If nothing in the body bothers you, then the tests can not be taken. This is the most common myth that accompanies laboratory diagnostics. But at the same time he is the most dangerous. For example, many oncological diseases may not manifest themselves at all for a long time. Only a consultation with a doctor and carrying out the necessary research can prevent the disease, detect it in its early stages. No wonder they say - forewarned means armed. It is better to detect the disease when nothing hurts yet in order to start fighting it as early as possible. Then the chances of winning will be much higher. And pain can be the last phase of the development of the disease.

A blood test can give you AIDS. Modern laboratories use only disposable consumables and equipment. This, in principle, excludes the possibility of contracting HIV infection. Today it will be difficult to find a laboratory that would use reusable equipment.

A bad doctor will constantly send for more tests. This myth sooner or later manifests itself in front of every therapist, regardless of his real skills. It's just that patients have not yet learned to trust doctors. But often it is the additional tests that play a key role in the accurate diagnosis and prescription of the correct treatment. If the doctor asks for additional diagnostics, then it should be considered not as a lack of experience, but as an attempt to better study the patient's condition, not to be mistaken in the conclusions.

Laboratory results are the ultimate truth. Today, no laboratory can guarantee the accuracy of its results with absolute certainty. Laboratory assistants are mistaken, factors such as a person's well-being, his diet and even the weather have an impact. Of course, the quality of research is constantly improving. But do not panic because of the bad results and immediately try to interpret them on your own and try to recover. Only a competent specialist, on the basis of laboratory diagnostics, the results of other studies, can make the correct diagnosis. Perhaps it is worth retaking the tests, or maybe their combination will show a completely different picture than it seemed on the basis of a separate study.

If the tests are good, then there is no illness. Sometimes it happens that the clinical picture is in conflict with the test results. Then you should repeat them. For example, in the serological diagnosis of infections in the initial period of the disease, even with a pronounced clinical picture, the analyzes may not show anything.

In fact, laboratory diagnostics is a waste of time. Some patients believe that the doctor can make a diagnosis by his external examination. In fact, up to 70% of information about a person's condition is given precisely by tests, allowing the correct diagnosis to be made. Laboratory diagnostics allows not only to be treated correctly, but also to maintain health in general.

It is better for the expectant mother not to overuse analyzes. There is a point of view that it is better not to load a pregnant woman with analyzes, because they harm the unborn baby. Such an opinion is not only a delusion, it is also simply dangerous. After all, the attending physician can send the expectant mother for additional tests, thereby helping to prevent possible complications in the near future. So, donating blood to determine the blood group can help avoid the Rh-conflict, which is dangerous for its negative consequences. So in this situation, the analyzes, on the contrary, only help the woman herself and her child.

The most accurate analyzes in state polyclinics. Many of us habitually trust ordinary polyclinics, believing that in private medical institutions they only think about how to make money. In the 1990s, our compatriots found themselves in a rather paradoxical situation. The transition to market relations led to the fact that it turned out to be difficult to obtain qualified medical care, both for a fee and for free. So private centers weren't very efficient back then. Currently, the situation is gradually improving. Government agencies are beginning to receive modern equipment, boasting the use of high technology and private clinics. In addition, highly qualified professionals often work there. And a range of paid services appeared in state institutions. So each patient can freely choose where and how he is best examined and treated. Someone basically uses the services of private institutions, and someone is more pleasant than a polyclinic. Nevertheless, it should be remembered that in order to obtain a complete dynamic picture, analyzes should be taken in the same laboratory, on the same equipment and using the same reagents. This is the only way to see the development of processes.

Analyzes should be taken in the morning and on an empty stomach. This rule is not always true. If we are talking about a clinical blood test, then it is better to skip breakfast. Tests for sex hormones (FSH, LH, etc.) should really be taken at the beginning of the day and on an empty stomach. But blood for the study of glycosylated hemoglobin or serological diagnosis of infections is taken throughout the day after a couple of hours after a meal. And PCR research of scrapings for urogenital studies does not have any restrictions on time or food intake at all. In any case, it is better to clarify the requirements for passing the analysis.

Laboratory results remain constant throughout the year. In fact, a lot influences the results. This is the daily routine of a person, his emotional and physical state, diet. That is why indicators can jump not only throughout the year, but even a week, or even a day.
