Ecological tourism

Ecological tourism

Few people know that tourism accounts for 10% of the world's gross national product. A lot of investment goes into this industry, jobs are involved. Therefore, the importance of tourism for the economies of many countries cannot be underestimated. Recently, the term "ecological tourism" is increasingly common. The fact is that the rapid development of cities has led to the fact that people really want to communicate with wildlife.

In addition, in many places the problem of preserving the environment is quite urgent. But, like any fashionable phenomenon, ecotourism has got its portion of myths.

Ecological tourism is a cheap vacation. In fact, the cheapness of this type of tourism is quite imaginary. Even a simple trip to the untouched nature "savage", just for a couple of days, will entail impressive costs. The average citizen, accustomed to traveling inside the city, is unlikely to find clothing that can reliably shelter from the weather or dangerous insects. But you will also need a backpack, a hatchet, a bowler hat, a shovel, a tent, a sleeping bag. You have to fork out to get good equipment. And for a comfortable stay, it's also nice to get a barbecue, a barbecue, and a washbasin. To transport such baggage, you will need a car. Only it does not really fit into the concept of ecological tourism. And this is a simple way out to nature. If you go on a horse trekking, river rafting or camping, the situation with spending will only worsen. And eco-friendly hotels are not cheap.

Eco hotels cannot offer luxury services. This statement is true, but only partially. Speaking of ecotourism, a picture of spending the night near a campfire in places far from civilization, a safari in the jungle sweeps through my head. The fact is that ecotours are presented in the form of pictures describing primitive romance. As a result, tourists get a not entirely correct idea of such a vacation. Tent life has its own merits. It is quite natural for an ecotourist to live in such a house, eating natural gifts and food from local aborigines. But don't think that such a life is the rule for everyone. There are quite a few hotels in the world, including luxury hotels, which position themselves as ecological. The whole raison d'être of their existence is that they practically do not harm the surrounding nature with their activities. After all, emissions into the environment, like waste, are carefully regulated. During the construction of the premises and their subsequent decoration, only natural materials were used. Such eco-hotels do not violate the harmony of the environment, blending in with the surrounding nature.

Ecotourism envisages trips to the most remote places from man - tundra, taiga, deserts. Such travels do exist. But their complete association with ecotourism is the work of travel companies. It is beneficial for them to associate ecological travel, as a modern analogy of the era of pioneering. But you can get out into nature anywhere in the world. You don't even need to go far from your place of residence. Surely, somewhere nearby there are lakes, mountains and forests. The main thing in ecotourism is to observe the unwritten rule: "do not harm nature."

Ecotourism means humanitarian aid and work with people in third world countries. It is often said that ecotourism is primarily hard work, not recreation. Indeed, there are people who volunteered for a certain humanitarian program in a poor African country. But you can't call it ecotourism. And the roots of the belief that ecotourism is work, not leisure, lie in another direction of tourism - agritourism. Indeed, in this form, people go to farms and land not at all to lie in the sun. Agritourism is a do-it-yourself job of planting and growing cereals, fruits and vegetables.

Ecotourism is suitable for adults only. Nobody forces to take small children with them into the wilderness to teach them to tents. After all, there are much safer trips to nature. The kids will surely love it there. Moreover, it will teach them to love and appreciate nature.

Ecological tourism has a beneficial effect on health. Oddly enough, this statement is incorrect. Even for a resident of a large city, a sudden change of scenery will not help. After all, a different composition of the air will negatively affect the work of the body. But the other will be water. You will have to drink it raw, from unrefined sources. When picking mushrooms and berries, it is easy to make a mistake and consume poisonous ones. And there are so many harmful insects that there is nowhere to hide from them. If you go on an ecotour to an exotic country, then there are even more health risks. That is why, before leaving, any tourist is strongly recommended to take a course of vaccinations. But they themselves are not particularly useful to the body. Therefore, communication with nature in a natural environment is best done in your own climate zone. At least this can partially guarantee the absence of problems with pressure, digestion. And small diseases caused by small animals and insects can be avoided. It is best for a city dweller to first make a trial eco-tour with a guide. Before starting an independent friendship with wildlife, it is better to study it first.

Ecological tourism is harmless to the environment. Even sailing on a pleasure boat on a large river can be called ecological tourism. You just need to find a technologically advanced vessel. Tourists will leave the ship to get acquainted with the local nature, the culture of the inhabitants and the ecological troubles of the region. The ideal case is when guests can still help solve some problems. The easiest way is to collect donations for nature conservation. Only the appearance of man in nature in itself does not pass without leaving a trace for her. Eco-hotels are popular in Europe today, but they are still an intervention in ecosystems. The best way to preserve nature is to reduce the generally technogenic impact on it, including in the form of frequent visits by cars and boats.

Ecological tourism involves visiting places where there has never been a person. Indeed, there are still many places in the world where man has never been. But usually these are such corners where we can hardly get without special physical training. We are talking about mountain tops, islands. North and South poles, swamps, impenetrable jungle. When organizing ecotours, they don't go to extremes, sending unprepared people there. This type of recreation can be considered as ordinary fishing or hunting, or just rest in the village. If a person has friends or relatives away from the city, then the problem of choosing a place has already been solved. Otherwise, eco-operators will help the tourist.

Ecological tourism involves the rejection of the benefits of civilization. In order for recreation and tourism to be truly complete, and the body to improve its health, it is necessary to get rid of stress. That is why it is still not worthwhile to completely retire and give up the benefits of civilization. After all, such a step can badly affect health out of habit. For those who do not seek to escape to the ends of the world, but are looking for a quiet option for ecotourism, an ecological hotel can be advised. Such establishments are already very popular in Europe. An example is a hotel made of wine barrels, or a hotel in a rye field with cereals instead of walls. There are unique hotels in caves and trees.

Ecological tourism includes hiking in the mountains. Many countries are famous for their mountains. There, ecological tourism is directly associated with mountain tourism. In fact, you should not limit the opportunities for outdoor recreation. There are protected forests, national parks and reserves. Today, many countries are trying to develop ecotourism, providing vacationers with more and more objects to visit.

Being an ecotourist is too difficult. Today anyone can plan their tour using the Internet. And special physical training is not required in case of such a rest, unlike extreme tourism.

Better to rest in large groups. While relaxing in nature, you should not think that you can see all the sights on your own, or as part of small groups. When organizing high-quality eco-tours, the organizers try to include visits to such attractions that you simply cannot see alone. And it will be better to learn the details from the group leader than to read the guidebooks or advertising brochures.
