Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids (from the Greek haimorrhoi's - bleeding, from haima - blood and rheo - flow), kidney, nodular expansion of the veins of the rectum, mainly in the anus. There are external (subcutaneous) and internal (submucous) nodes. Hemorrhoids usually suffer from middle-aged and elderly people, men 3 times more often than women.

The development of hemorrhoids is facilitated by factors that cause an increase in pressure and stagnation of blood in the veins of the pelvis and venous plexuses of the rectum (chronic constipation, prolonged stay while working in a standing position, tumors of the pelvis and abdominal cavity, liver cirrhosis, in women - improper position of the uterus, pregnancy ); hereditary, congenital insufficiency of the structure of the veins is also of some importance.

With the development of the disease, itching, burning, pain appear in the anus. During bowel movements or with sharp stresses, the nodes fall out; later, they fall out when walking. Lost nodes are often thrombosed and inflamed; due to the contraction of the sphincter of the anus, they can restrict and die. One of the most indicative signs of hemorrhoids is bleeding from the nodes, as a result of which anemia can develop.

Treatment: elimination of predisposing moments, ascending cold shower, with constipation - laxatives, enemas, diet, in severe cases - surgery. Prevention: elimination of constipation, refusal to drink alcohol, rough and spicy food, exercise therapy. Let's try to expose the main misconceptions about this disease.

Hemorrhoids appear due to a sedentary lifestyle. Long sitting is not necessary for hemorrhoids to appear. Neither constipation nor frequent childbirth by themselves causes hemorrhoids in a healthy person. Hemorrhoids appear when blood flow in the veins of the rectum is disturbed. Then any of the named reasons can provoke the disease.

Hemorrhoids always bleed. Hemorrhoids can but shouldn't bleed. Bleeding is one of its complications. Then bright red arterial blood flows in drops or even a stream. Sometimes bleeding can be very profuse and cause anemia.

If the anus hurts, it is hemorrhoids. Not true, if it hurts, it does not mean that it is hemorrhoids. There are no nerves in the colon, so the hemorrhoids are insensitive. It hurts only in some cases, for example, when complications of hemorrhoids appear: prolapse, anal fissure, inflammation.

Older people suffer from hemorrhoids. Often hemorrhoids appear at a young age, and then intensify with the appearance of other diseases or as a result of strong stress.

The only disease of the anus is hemorrhoids. Many people who go to a proctologist often complain: "I have hemorrhoids." But only half of them are diagnosed with hemorrhoids. Worst of all, the vast majority do not go to a doctor at all, but treat themselves. Therefore, dangerous colon diseases are often detected too late.

Hemorrhoids are a shameful disease of sluts, libertines. Neither body hygiene nor sex life affects the appearance of hemorrhoids. Therefore, the feeling of guilt should be dropped. But while hemorrhoids have already appeared, good hygiene can help relieve symptoms such as itching and burning.

A medical examination for hemorrhoids is very painful. With hemorrhoids, a specialist examination is completely painless. Examination can be associated with pain if, in addition to hemorrhoids, there are other diseases: cracks in the anus, tears, loss of nodes.

Painful, but not bleeding nodules near the anus are nothing more than hemorrhoids. Having established such a diagnosis for themselves, people can be very mistaken. In fact, hemorrhoids are deep in the rectum and it is sometimes impossible to "get" to them on your own. External manifestations can be something else that you are not even aware of.

The best way to combat hemorrhoids is to relieve constipation. Very often, as a "prevention" of illness, a person begins to drink laxatives. From diarrhea, hemorrhoids develop even faster than from constipation: the high acidity of loose stools irritates the sphincter and causes it to spasm.

The only way to treat hemorrhoids is through painful surgery. On the contrary, if you get to a good specialist, you will do without surgery.
